7th Grade Math
11/3/17 This week we prepared for our Unit 2 Mid-Assessment. Students completed a study guide and worked with unit rates involving complex fractions. 10/13/17 We completed our work on Unit 1 this week. Students completed a study guide using the website Quizizz, and demonstrated their understanding of integers and other rational numbers in real world context. Our Unit 1 Assessment will be on Monday the 16th. 9/25/17 This week we continued our work with rational number operations. Students completed video notes and worked on various real world problems involving rational numbers. We also took the 7th Grade vocabulary pre-assessment. 9/18/17 This week we explored ways to add and subtract integers. The students discovered rules that help to add and subtract rational numbers with efficiency. We also completed our Fall NWEA testing. |
Advanced Math
11/3/17 Students completed their Unit 2 Mid-Assessment. Students are being introduced to real life uses for algebraic expressions, and working with those expressions in a variety of ways, using mathematical properties. 10/13/17 Advanced math students continued their work with ratios and proportions. This week we practiced finding actual lengths when given a scale drawing. We also learned about scale factor and area of scale drawings. Advanced math students will have their Unit 1 Assessment on Tuesday the 17th. 9/25/17 Advanced math continued work with proportional relationships. Students learned to find unit rates, write equations using constant of proportionality, and determine information in graphic form. Advanced math also took the 7th Grade vocabulary pre-assessment. 9/18/17 This week we worked with proportional and non-proportional relationships in a variety of real world settings. Students needed to determine if relationships between two quantities were proportional in tables and graphs. We also completed our Fall NWEA testing. |
